This is my first effort to try a hand in blogging. The thought of sharing my ideas with the world has been at the back of my mind for some time. The real spark came today, which i think is a result of some of the events that had been happening for the past couple of days. A few days back, i was at a lecture given by an aptitude trainer in my college for our placement training classes. As it was an aptitude session, i expected the run of the mill stuff (of giving some problems and telling us to solve them). But i hadn't come across anything like this before in my four years at college. The lecture was about lateral thinking. The trainer gave us problems that could not be solved by mere mathematical logic, but needed some out of the box thinking. He said it needed right brain thinking. In India, particularly Tamil Nadu, the competition is simply neck break. You could fall by 2000 ranks if you were a mark lesser than your competitor. We have been told to study what is given, score marks, get into a good college, get a fine job and settle down. Nobody asks what we like to do. This thought was further fuelled when i saw 3 idiots yesterday. Am not going to post any spoilers here though. It is an inspiration of 5 point someone by Chetan Bahgat. I had read the book a few years back but i just enjoyed the story rather than delving into the issues presented by him. But after seeing its adaptation on big screen, i realized that it was lateral thinking that would help me on the long run rather than the grades that i secure( though they are important). These few incidents and many more, which like the butterfly effect or like a stone falling from a mountain becoming a boulder, inspired me to break free from my shell. This is the genesis of my blog.
Take Care
